All Lopez residents should have access to quality medical services on Lopez
Our Hospital District should act as an advocate to support the healthcare needs of local island residents
We need an open conversation with and reliable information from our partner hospital
Residents need to feel confident that Hospital District tax dollars are being put to good use to provide needed services on island

Ever since arriving on Lopez with our young family in 1988 I have been helping provide healthcare to our island community. I spent over a decade working at our Lopez Medical Clinic and several years working at the Hamlet House. All the while I have worked and volunteered as a private caregiver and led many hospice teams.
Over these 37 years, I have had the opportunity to work with and take care of a diverse range of island neighbors and become an indispensable part of our health care safety net. This is one important way I help nourish our unique and wonderful Lopez community spirit.
Now more than ever, we need to work together to provide a strong and responsive medical center that is accessible to everyone and allows people to stay on-island for their health care needs, one that delivers old fashioned rural medical care while making use of cutting-edge technology. I am running for seat #5 on the Hospital District Board because I love this community and want the very best healthcare for all island residents.
